It maybe sooner than you think! The “content is king” phrase has been passed around the SEO (search engine optimization) world for some time. The phrase refers to the fact that you need unique and relevant content on your website to rank high for a specific search query. If I wanted to rank for the search “traveling to mars” I would need to have content on my site about… traveling to mars… big shock, right?
Google annouced yesterday a product called, “Google Audio Indexing” It sounds like just what it is. Google, “listens” to your video and then transcribes the video so that user can search through a particular video to see when a word is mentioned. This product is still in the testing phase, so you won’t notice it on your YouTube Videos or Google Videos, but.. You can check out a sample that Google released here or you can listen to my thoughts about this product on this 4 minute video.
